Our History
The National Retirement Benefits Fund (the Fund) was established on July 1st 2012, to serve the private sector, which includes private businesses and church denominations. The Fund operates on a defined contribution basis, collecting both compulsory and voluntary contributions from employers and their employees (members) for retirement purposes. Additionally, the Fund manages the Government Social Welfare Scheme on behalf of the Tonga Government and holds shares in Tonga Development Bank (TDB) and Pacific Timber & Hardware (PTH) Ltd.
